Day-1 Experience - National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE)

 

Welcome! Say hello to your official virtual guide at the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai. Walking through the lanes of NITIE and still knowing exactly where you are and where you need to go is a task as difficult as getting into NITIE, as suddenly the world changed and everything turned from real to reel. Yes! It is our virtual tour of NITIE campus which we never imagined; all thanks to this pandemic because of it we can experience NITIE from my home itself along with every member of the family.

Due to pandemic and uncertain conditions, our first day has been shifted twice and we are just clueless and praying it to happen as soon as possible. A mail on the night of 23rd July with subject “ABHISANSKARAN-2020” and states hearty congratulation and welcome to NITIE family has cleared all our doubts and suddenly a huge rush of energy seen in all of us.

Finally, the D-Day arrived and the event was planned to start at 6 pm, as excited as everyone and a bit nervous, to find hundreds of other clueless students just like me in my chatbox, I settled down in front of laptops with fully suit up getup to find out that our cameras will be off and it was just a prank by the senior team to make us feel the exact impact of inductions from home. Suddenly a lot of things started in my memory lane, the past year experience, late-night studies, my two previous failed attempts, and a lot of cooked up stories for getting leaves. But this is the moment I have been waiting for, which I imagined being from the most recent few years and I am very glad to make it genuine.

 

  

The event started with a warm welcoming note from Dean Academics to our batch followed by Lamp lighting and addressing of various senate members to the students, despite the training and trial runs, however, the event did not pass without technical difficulties but I can clearly see the effort made by institute to make us feel privileged in these tough times and create a sense confidence among all of us, we all get acquitted with institute song and finally, the event ended with one of the best speech from the director who truly make us part of this esteemed group. In all these times we are strongly connected through our chat group, the jokes are flying to a great extent; congrats are pouring in and each one of us can feel the presence of each other around which truly makes the induction program lively.
